Emphasis will be placed on Chaffey’s A+ Certificate which has added a greater dimension in Business Education. Computer graphics brings an interdisciplinary component to the development of Electronic Commerce courses. The participants will have the opportunity to review the results of faculty internships and how those internships effect curriculum modification, advisory council selections, and student internships. Chaffey College provides a broad spectrum of courses in an articulated sequence leading to a certificate, an associate degree, or transition to a four-year institution.

Sonora Union High School’s BIS Career Path began in 1992 when the Yosemite Tech Prep Consortium was formed. Business and industry personnel, area high schools, and college administrative and instructional staff helped in the development of the Office Assistant/Administrative Career Path which is articulated with Columbia College. The Office Occupations course provides students an opportunity to work in a model office setting. The up-to-date equipment includes 486DX IBM compatible computers, internal phone system, fax machine and copy machine. Students apply for office receptionist and office assistant positions by completing an application, developing a resume, taking pre-employment tests, and participating in an interview. Six of the courses in the BIS career path have been articulated and coherently sequenced with Columbia College. An integrated Business/English course, Contemporary Communications, is being developed for implementation
